The effect of crumb rubber in dense graded and open graded cold mixture asphalt

Abstract Recycling tires is one of the eco-friendly way for reducing environmental problems. Incorporating crumb rubber in asphalt mixtures an alternative reusing end-of-life road construction. The main purpose this study to evaluate cold mix incorporating as a substitute part fine aggregates. In study, aggregate gradations design were selected according specification, Dense Graded Emulsion Mixtures (DGEM) Type IV and Open (OGEM) E/20. bitumen content was optimized stability, void mixture (porosity), density. Crumb Rubber (CR) emulsion made with optimum at 8% by mass total DGEM OGEM. order incorporate into mixtures, laboratory testing performed 25% 50% aggregates replaced equal volume rubber. general, CR showed good results all parameters. also had comparison hot specification medium traffic loads porosity less than 10%. From can be recommended substitution material asphalt.
